If you’re new to organizing and want to get more involved, this crash course in Organizing 101 is for you. Learn from and connect with local organizers and pick up skills that can be put to use right away!
Local organizers are gifting their time to walk you through different ways of getting involved, so you have the confidence and information to start organizing.
- Mobilizing Your “Crew” (Building Affinity Groups): Learn how to build and sustain small, trusted teams that can take collective action safely and effectively.
- Organizing a Phone Zap: An effective way to start making change with your crew! Learn how to coordinate quick, high-impact call-in campaigns that pressure decision-makers to take action.
- Safety and Marshalling 101: Understand how to keep actions safe and organized. We’ll walk you through best practices for crowd navigation and de-escalation.
- Wheatpasting: Learn how to prepare wheatpaste and safely put up posters in your area to inform and mobilize your neighbours.
- Meet Local Activist Groups: At the end of the day there will be time to connect with grassroots organizers in Vancouver. Get connected and plug into ongoing campaigns for Palestine.
Accessibility information: There is a ramp to the main entrance of the building and the hall we are renting is physically accessible. There is a wheelchair accessible washroom downstairs (via wheelchair lift).
